Kafka Streamyard 0.5.2 — Safer Topic Copying, Smarter Filters & UI Refinements

A topic-workflow release with reliable cross-cluster copy and paste protection, new Confluent and internal-topic exclusion preferences, clearer context menus, and compact layout improvements across topic and message-detail tools.

What changed

• Hardened topic-data copy and paste with a uniquely tagged payload, strict shape validation, resilient Electron IPC synchronization, and protection against malformed or stale copied-topic data
• Made Paste topic data into existing topic reliably activate for a different destination and kept Create new topic and paste data available from both topic and empty-area context menus
• Refined topic context-menu organization and wording, including moving Repartition topic above Empty topic and using the default cursor for protected disabled actions
• Reorganized visible-topic actions so copy commands precede Add visible topics to a new or existing view, added live visible-topic counts to both copy commands, and moved JSON format feedback into the success notification
• Improved the Copy Topic Data dialog with vertically stacked source and destination cards while retaining full topic-name hover details
• Contained connection and topic tag dropdowns within the Message List View Manager sidebar so they no longer spill into the main editor area
• Added @@ignoreConfluent with the @@ic alias for _confluent-* topics and @@ikc as a non-conflicting alias for @@ignoreConnectors covering recognized Kafka Connect and MirrorMaker system topics
• Expanded Topic list and filter help, filter-builder guidance, AI context, and samples for the new Confluent exclusion predicate and aliases
• Redesigned topic column and exclusion options as a compact 2x2 tick layout for record count, data size, internal-topic exclusion, and Confluent-topic exclusion
• Persisted silent Ignore internals and Ignore Confluent preferences per connection and kept the filter dropdown open while changing any of the four options
• Added a clear Saved filters heading above user-created filter presets
• Added defensive name-length limits across Kafka topic copy/create flows, Live Views, sample messages, and both playbook editors, including persistence and AI-generated title boundaries
• Prevented replication-factor labels such as rf 3 from wrapping in both right-docked and bottom-docked message detail panes
